No One Likes Your Social Media Posts: Here’s Why

Just the Tip: Create content that serves as a resource for people trying to achieve mastery
 
Sharing this video for two reasons
 
1. We all get sucked in to content overload and we consume content without any regard of whether it will move us forward. We need to be more strategic
 
2. We contribute to the overconsumption of content by creating content we know does not provide value but increases our reach (ohhh this dog meme is funny, let me share that). This attracts an audience that is not committed to us or our ideals. This audience doesn’t engage, they don’t convert, they drag down our page and we become frustrated with the lack of results.
 
Be more purposeful with content creation.
 
Ask yourself:
 
Will someone see my page as a resource?
 
Will this piece of content serve as a resource or is it taking up space?
 
Is this content helping someone to achieve mastery in one particular area?
 
If you are selling a shovel, show your audience content that helps them understand how they can master the garden project with your shovel.
 
If you are selling a meal at a restaurant, show your audience content that helps them understand how they can master family night out at your restaurant.
 
If you are selling coaching, give your audience advice that can help them get one step closer to becoming the person they would become if they coached with you.
 
Do not create a landfill of content, create content with meaning. Create content you are actually invested in.
 
IF YOUR EYES AREN’T LIGHTING UP WHEN YOU ARE CREATING A PIECE OF CONTENT, IF IT DOESN’T MOVE YOU, IF IT IS JUST FILLER THEN DO NOT EXPECT IT TO PRODUCE RESULTS.
 
You can’t expect your audience to be moved by content that doesn’t move the needle for you. If you hate creating it your audience probably won’t want to consume it. Don’t ask why you have a reach problem if you are creating content on a conveyor belt with regularity and consistency but no HEART or PASSION.
 
Stop hiding behind other experts or gurus. Be the guru. You are the expert, help your audience achieve mastery and they show up and they will convert.
